Charterers' agency

Chartered vessels are handled by a department that is separate from our owners' protecting agency. The owners' agent acts for the owners and the charterers' agent acts for the charterers, as independent entities under the terms of the charter party.

Under our agency the terms of the charter party are followed closely, without prejudice to any party, and the charterers' interests during loading and discharge are looked after throughout the call.

Multimove has also chartered vessels to carry cargo to and from Bangladesh and has a record of paying freight on time.

Ship-broking and chartering

Our staff work with foreign brokers on the chartering of cargo-carrying vessels, and offer ship-broking and ship-operating support to owners and charterers trading to Bangladesh.

End-of-life vessel sales

Multimove has handled vessels sold for recycling in Chattogram. We assist foreign owners and brokers with the sale of vessels and tankers to local buyers, and with compliance with Bangladeshi customs and port requirements and the terms of the memorandum of agreement (MOA).

The declaration and entry of a recycling vessel is more sensitive than a normal call. It involves notifying the buyer's position after customs entry, arranging the inventory for customs assessment in good time, and timing the beaching to the high tide set out in the MOA. Careful handling of these steps protects the owner's interests and avoids disputes over the final settlement.
